Sports competitions among diplomats were held in Ashgabat

From November 30 to December 8, in honor of the International Day of Neutrality there were held sports competitions in Ashgabat among diplomats who competed in badminton and chess, played Futsal. The action’s organizers are the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia.

The best chess players were employees of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Turkmenistan, who took 1st and 2nd places in the overall standings. The Foreign Ministry’s representatives of Turkmenistan won the third place.

Employees of diplomatic missions of Pakistan, China and Russia distinguished themselves in badminton competitions, which were held in the sports complex of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

Turkmen diplomats showed their skills in Futsal, becoming the leaders of the tournament. They outplayed the team of the Embassy of the United States of America and the joint team of the Russian Federation, Armenia and Malaysia Embassies.

In the framework of the “Friendly Game of Ambassadors”, it was held a Futsal match, which was participated by envoys, accredited to the country, ambassadors of Turkmenistan working abroad, and also representatives of the country’s MFA.

The Challenge Cup was awarded to the competition winners, and winners were awarded diplomas. Such tournaments are organized annually, which stress once again the role of sports diplomacy in multilateral dialogue in the name of peace and friendship between peoples.
