Russian government led by Medvedev resigns

“Dear Vladimir Vladimirovich, dear colleagues, you were all witnesses to the message of the President of the Russian Federation, where Vladimir Vladimirovich as president outlined not only the priorities for work in our country for the coming year, but also outlined a number of fundamental changes to the Constitution of the Russian Federation,” RIA Novosti quotes Dmitry Medvedev. – These changes, when they are adopted, which, in all likelihood, will be done after discussion, as was said, they will make significant changes not only to a number of articles of the Constitution, but also to the balance of power, executive power, legislative power, judicial power”.

“In this context, it is obvious that we, as the government of the Russian Federation, should provide the president of our country with the opportunity to make all the necessary decisions, and in these conditions, I believe that in accordance with Article 117 of the Constitution of the Russian Federation, the current government of the Russian Federation was right to have submitted resignation,” said Medvedev.

Vladimir Putin instructed the government to perform its duties until the formation of a new cabinet.
