Russia summons foreign ministers of the Caspian states in December

Russia invites the heads of foreign ministries of the Caspian states in December to discuss the Caspian Convention in Moscow, and in spring the meeting of the heads of coastal states might happen in Astana. This was stated by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Grigory Karasin.

According to him, at present the parties are trying to finalize certain aspects of the Caspian Convention in order to hold the final Caspian Sea summit in Kazakhstan next year.

Karasin noted that the Caspian Sea should be a model of how coastal states can reach agreements and an example of good-neighborly partnership.
