Russia is in active dialogue with all potential partners in the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway. According to Sputnik Kyrgyzstan, the First Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Viktor Babich said this after a meeting with the President and Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan.
He noted that today there are two uncoordinated issues – gauge and route. “Now another combined option has been proposed. The issue was also discussed today at a meeting with the President and Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan. We are working on it in detail at the level of departments,” Babich said.
The Deputy Minister expressed hope that Russia will also take part in this project.
“The project for the construction of a railway line, which will connect the PRC with the republics of Central Asia, has been discussed for over 20 years. Several route options were considered, including from China through Kyrgyzstan to Uzbekistan and further to Turkmenistan and Iran with access to the seaports of Turkey,” emphasizes Sputnik Kyrgyzstan agency.
