Ronaldo to Receive ‘Legend’ Award

On July 29, the Spanish newspaper Marca will hand out the Marca Leyenda Award (‘Legend’ Award) to Cristiano Ronaldo, who plays as a forward for Yuventus and the Portugal national team.

Ronaldo will be awarded the trophy in recognition of his whole career in football.

Since its inception in 1997, famous sports celebrities such as Lionel Messi, Diego Maradona, Michael Phelps, Michael Schumacher, and Michael Jordan have received the award.

New World Record in 200m Butterfly

A new world record has been set in the 200-meter butterfly at the World Swimming Championships in South Korea.

Record-breaking Hungarian swimmer Kristof Milak, a 19-year-old, finished in a time of 1:50.73. Mike’s nearest competitor was Rio Olympic bronze medalist Daiya Seto of Japan, who finished in 1:53.86. South African Chad le Clos, who won the London 2012 Olympic gold medal for 200-meter butterfly, finished third (1:54.15) to claim bronze.

George Russell

Amid rumors of Russell’s transfer, Williams’ Deputy Team Principal Claire Williams has said that George Russell is a “big part of Williams’ future” and the team is not going to lose him.

– I am sure that George is a would-be world champion and I will do everything in my power to keep George Russell in the team. He is on a long-term contract with Williams and we haven’t had any conversations about George potentially leaving the team in the short term.

After the 2019 season’s ten rounds, the team’s driver has scored zero points and is now at the bottom of the standings. This gave rise to speculation that the contract with George Russell would be cancelled.
