A conference hall of the European Union Project SARD III in Ashgabat hosted a ceremony of awarding international certificates to Turkmen entrepreneurs for compliance with ISO quality management systems. In November 2019, competent auditors from the internationally recognized CERT International Certification Agency, a part of the CERT Group of Companies with headquarter in Bratislava (Slovakia, www.certin.org), analyzed the quality and food safety management system of three Turkmen enterprises operating in the agricultural and food industries.
All three entrepreneurs have successfully passed certification for compliance with ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Management Systems and ISO 22000: 2018 Food Safety Management Systems. Now the holders of these documents will have an additional advantage when exporting their products, negotiating with partners and investors, as well as participating in tenders.
In addition to these advantages, the management system will make it possible to reduce costs by stricter accounting of raw materials and finished products, increase the efficiency of internal business processes, ensure an accurate distribution of staff responsibilities, etc. Consumer confidence, evoked by an internationally recognized certificate, has no less important role to play.
The authenticity and validity of the certificates is confirmed by the accreditation of CERT International by the Slovak National Accreditation Service (SNAS), which, in turn, is a member of the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and the European Accreditation Cooperation (EA), as well as the Multilateral Mutual Recognition Agreement IAF (IAF MLA).
All this guarantees recognition of the certificates all over the world, increasing the chances of Turkmen manufacturers for the acceptance of their goods or services by international partners.
Since January this year, CERT International has been represented in Turkmenistan on an ongoing basis through its official partner, the HIL-TM Center of the Halkara Standard Hyzmatlary IE. Gulistan Gafurova, head of this enterprise, informed that due to the successful completion of training courses and internships (including with the support by the SARD III Project), the first auditors authorized to conduct audits according to international standards appeared in Turkmenistan.
They will be involved in conducting management system audits in Turkmenistan, which will significantly save on the certification cost, since there will be no need to invite international experts and conclude foreign currency agreements.
