Putin has declared next week in Russia nonworking

Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a video message to citizens of the country, declared the next week to be nonworking with full pay. The address is broadcast on the television channel Russia 1.

The decision to introduce days off from March 28 to April 5 was taken as a measure to curb the spread of coronavirus in the country.

“The safest thing now is to stay home”, Putin said.

The President said that polyclinics, grocery stores, pharmacies, banks, socially significant and other similar facilities will operate in the normal course during the next week.

Vladimir Putin also postponed the vote on constitutional amendments to a later date. It was earlier scheduled for April 22.

According to Russian media, the number of patients with coronavirus in Russia over the past day has grown by 163 people to be up to 658 people in 55 regions. Now 29 patients have recovered. Moscow accounts for 410 cases of coronavirus.
