President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has held a working meeting today on combating the coronavirus infection, which has spread widely throughout the world in recent months. The problem discussion was attended by Deputy Prime Minister for Science, Education and Health Purli Agamyradov and Minister of Education Mammetmyrat Geldiniyazov.

Having heard the reports given by the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Education, the Turkmen leader instructed them to take a set of measures in accordance with the legislation of Turkmenistan for preventive medical health examination of all groups of the population in order to prevent coronavirus infection. According to the President, to do this, it is necessary to create special medical groups in the districts and cities that will begin to operate according to schedule. The head of Turkmen state emphasized that this work should start, first of all, in kindergartens, schools and universities.

During the meeting Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that the plan developed as early as December 2019 to prevent the import of coronavirus into the state is being implemented, and produces results, like other preventive measures.

The head of state also emphasized the importance of promoting sports, physical training and a healthy lifestyle. Foreign experience in the treatment of coronavirus infection shows that the disease is especially difficult in people with poor health and practically does not harm physically healthy people.

Summing up the meeting, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov reiterated that caring for the people’s health, education and upbringing of the young generation have been and are important priorities of the state policy.
