An International Media Forum dedicated to the First Caspian Economic Forum, scheduled for August 12, 2019 in the Avaza National Tourist Zone, was held in Ashgabat. The event gathered journalists from different countries. Representatives of the ministries and organizations addressed to the participants of media-forum. The participants noted that the holding of joint event is an important component of the process of further implementation of cooperation in the Caspian Sea.
Those participated at the forum underlined the historical closeness of the Caspian countries and the importance of developing a long-term partnership, which was promoted by the signing of the Convention on the Legal Status of the Caspian Sea in 2018.
In addition, the participants of the media-forum noted that Turkmenistan is one of the most dynamically developing countries in the region, which attract international investors with diverse projects in energy, transport, transit, tourism, ecology, etc. Therefore, the First Caspian Economic Forum, which to be held during the celebration of the Day of Caspian Sea, will be a successful platform for cooperation between local and foreign companies.
The significance of the Caspian Sea goes far beyond its geographical boundaries, since ancient times and up to now it has united peoples and cultures into one close system, and regular holding of forums and conferences in the five Caspian countries is intended to attract even more attention to the prospects of the largest lake of the world.
The representatives of Turkmenistan confirmed that they would make every effort, and call on neighboring countries for doing the same, to preserve the biological diversity in the Caspian Sea, as well as its unique and ecological purity. This issue along with issues related to the development of energy, transport-and-transit and tourist systems, were one of the key discussion topics at the First Caspian Economic Forum.
During the media-forum, a new website specially designed for the First Caspian Economic Forum was presented. The website will include the information about the history of the Caspian Sea, its regional and global significance, as well as details of the scheduled event. The online resource will provide an online registration option for those who wish to participate in the forum.
