An online queue for people going to Hajj is planned to be launched in Uzbekistan

The creation of a unique online system for the formation of a transparent queue of pilgrims wishing to go to the Hajj was announced by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev as part of his election campaign, "Fergana" news agency reports.
It is expected that the introduction of an electronic queue will help fight fraud and bribery, as well as corrupt officials and unscrupulous businessmen who make money on gullible Muslims by promising them a trip to sacred places.
The intention to create an online queue for those going to Hajj was stated in a government decree signed in June 2017. The document also specifies the procedure according to which citizens should get in the online queue.
Sending to the Hajj is handled by the Committee on Religious Affairs and the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Uzbekistan. Only these departments are authorized to conclude agreements with the relevant ministries of Saudi Arabia, with institutions, hotels, transport and food enterprises providing services to pilgrims.
Every year Uzbekistan sends more and more pilgrims to Hajj. This year, according to the estimates of the Arabian media, 15,130 Uzbekistanis will arrive in their country. By 2030, the Uzbek authorities plan to increase this figure to 24,000.
