The Permanent Representatives of Turkmenistan and Angola to the UN spoke in favor of the parity accreditation of ambassadors


Permanent Representatives of Turkmenistan and Angola to the UN - Ambassador Aksoltan Atayeva and Cruz Francisco Jose Da discussed issues of interaction on the platform of the Community of Nations and bilateral cooperation, speaking in favor of parity accreditation of ambassadors in order to strengthen diplomatic ties between Ashgabat and Luanda.
The meeting was held on June 13, at the office of the Turkmen mission to the UN. According to the Permanent Mission, a constructive exchange of views took place on the common agenda, significant convergence of positions, foreign policy priorities and initiatives promoted by the two countries in such important areas as preventive diplomacy, ensuring peace and security, combating terrorism, climate change and the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development was noted.
The diplomats stressed the role of youth and women in these processes and noted the need to exchange experiences, expressing readiness to strengthen ties and establish direct channels of communication between national governments for mutual information, coordination of actions and the development of joint initiatives, which will help establish regular dialogue and ensure more effective bilateral interaction. Prospects for organizing visits and bilateral meetings at various levels were also discussed.
The Ambassadors expressed their readiness to continue the practice of mutual support for candidates and initiatives of interest to both countries, as well as actively cooperate to achieve mutual priorities and deepen multilateral partnership.
Turkmenistan and Angola established diplomatic relations on June 18, 1997. The South African country with Luanda as its capital is a member of the Group of Friends on Sustainable Transport, established within the framework of the UN under the chairmanship of Turkmenistan.
