Kazakhstan will produce insulin using Russian technology


Analogue insulin based on Russian technology will be launched at the Karaganda pharmaceutical complex by the end of 2024. A long-term license agreement on the sidelines of the Intergovernmental Council of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union in Sochi was signed by Kazakh and Russian pharmacists, Sputnik Kazakhstan reports with reference to the press service of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade.
The contract provides the pharmaceutical complex of Kazakhstan with the rights to use the secret of the production of analogue insulin of the Russian company Geropharm and transfer the production technology. The bottling and packaging stages will be localized in Karaganda. The insulin substance itself will be supplied from the “Geropharm” plant in St. Petersburg.
The first commercial product is planned to be released by the end of 2024, the press service of the Russian ministry noted.
