Humanitarian aid collected in Ashgabat for victims of earthquakes in Turkey

Residents of Turkmenistan took part in an action to collect humanitarian aid to victims of the devastating earthquakes that occurred in southeastern Turkey last week, ORIENT correspondent reports.
Warm winter blankets were received at the Turkish visa center in Ashgabat. Hundreds of Turkmen citizens have come here to help the brotherly people of Turkey in a difficult time.
The humanitarian aid collection point was visited not only one by one, but also by whole families. The children helped their parents carry large bags with new warm blankets, which, in turn, should help other children who are now in the affected provinces of Turkey and evacuation zones to shelter from the cold.
Many, if possible, brought not one, but several warm blankets at once. Someone also donated dozens.

Turkish Ambassador to Turkmenistan Togan Oral thanked the audience for the assistance provided and noted that blankets are now very necessary for the victims, as cold weather has set in the disaster zone. He added that other actions to collect humanitarian aid will be held in Turkmenistan in the near future.
Powerful earthquakes with a magnitude of more than seven points occurred in the south-east of Turkey on February 6. According to the latest data, as a result of the disaster, more than 31.6 thousand people were killed in Turkey and 5.7 thousand in neighboring Syria.
On February 7, Turkmenistan sent a team of medical workers and humanitarian aid in the form of medicines, medical products and textiles. Later Ashgabat also sent humanitarian cargo to the republic to help injured children.
