Oriented on making people closer

The Exhibition of Export Products of Turkmenistan, designed to strengthen trade and economic ties between the two fraternal countries, opened at the Istanbul Exhibition Center. The event, which will last from July 2 to 5, has become a clear indication of the steady development of bilateral cooperation, actively supported by the heads of state.

The opening ceremony began with the performance of the anthems of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Turkey, after which speeches emphasizing the enormous potential of Turkmen manufacturers were made. It was noted that the exhibition will become an effective platform for the exchange of high technologies, innovative development and best practices. Particular importance was attached to the opening ceremony by the participation of Minister of Trade of Turkey Omer Bolat. In his speech, he emphasized the dynamic development of trade and economic relations between the two countries.

“Our main goal is to achieve the target trade volume of 5 billion dollars as soon as possible,” Minister Bolat said. He noted that in the first six months of this year, the volume of trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Turkey increased by about 26.3%, reaching $2.2 billion. By the end of the year, this figure is expected to exceed $3 billion. The minister also emphasized the desire to maintain a balance in bilateral trade and increase the diversity of products to achieve the ambitious goal set by the presidents of the two countries.

Bolat, who called for making this fair traditional, announced that the next Turkish Export Fair in Ashgabat is planned for February 13-15, 2026.

The Minister also touched upon cooperation in the energy sector, highlighting the "Memorandum of Understanding on the Development of Cooperation in the Field of Natural Gas" and the "Declaration of Intent" signed on March 1, 2024. He emphasized that the transportation of Turkmen gas to the European market via Turkey has not only an economic but also a strategic dimension for cooperation between the countries.

The exhibition presents a wide range of high-quality products offered for export. Visitors can get acquainted with industrial and agricultural equipment and spare parts, construction materials, household and electronic appliances, household goods, a wide range of textile products, various other goods and services.

Large-scale reforms implemented in various sectors of the economy of Turkmenistan create favorable conditions not only for the development of foreign economic relations, but also open up new investment opportunities for international business.

The exhibition clearly demonstrates the special importance that Ashgabat attaches to strengthening business cooperation with Turkey. It comprehensively reflects the work on modernization and diversification of all sectors of the Turkmen national economy, as well as the successful implementation of state programs and innovative projects.

A special decoration of the exposition was the architectural and design models of the Arkadag city projects, which symbolizes the policy of industrialization and strengthening of the processing industry of Turkmenistan. The exhibition also introduces the achievements of Turkmen entrepreneurs in the field of trade and services, including members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.

It is expected that the effective use of this exhibition venue and the active participation of businessmen from both countries will contribute to the establishment of new business partnerships and the promotion of goods from both countries to each other's markets.

Already on the first day of the exhibition, numerous bilateral meetings were held, confirming that the development of trade and economic relations is one of the main priorities of Turkmenistan in cooperation with the Republic of Turkey. Visitors to the exhibition are getting acquainted with export-oriented products from various sectors of the Turkmen economy with great interest, which lays a solid foundation for long-term and stable cooperation.

Turkmenistan has also become an honorary host country for the Istanbul Food, Beverage and Production Technology Fair, which is held in parallel with the exhibition of Turkmen export products.
