The international prize "UNESCO - Uzbekistan named after Beruni" in the field of AI was established
28.10.2024 | 15:45 |The international prize "UNESCO - Uzbekistan named after Beruni" has been established, the National News Agency of Uzbekistan reports.
The award is designed to support ethical research and development in the field of artificial intelligence.
It will be awarded every two years for outstanding projects that promote ethics and inclusivity in the field of AI, as well as strengthen international scientific cooperation.
The laureates will be selected by an independent international jury. They will receive a monetary reward, a certificate and a medal in recognition of their contribution to world science.
The first award ceremony will be held in November 2025 in Samarkand as part of the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference.
The initiative to establish the award was made by the President of Uzbekistan. The initiative was unanimously adopted at the 220th session of the UNESCO Executive Board, held on October 22, 2024 in Paris.
