Turkmen tennis player wins two medals at tournament in Tajikistan
25.03.2023 | 19:13 |Turkmen athlete Imran Akhundov won two medals - silver and bronze - at the open championship of the Asian Tennis Federation under 14, which was held on March 18-25 in Dushanbe (Tajikistan).
A representative of the Ashgabat Tennis Academy won a silver medal in doubles, playing in tandem with Uzbek athlete Akmal Arabjanov. The Turkmen-Uzbek duet in the final with a score of 7:6 6:1 lost to the Kazakh-Tajik pair Alekseev-Moshtagifard.
In addition, Imran Akhundov won the bronze medal in the singles tournament, beating the representative of Kazakhstan Marcel Alekseev in the fight for the third place.
The open championship of the Asian Tennis Federation under 14 brought together over 60 athletes from 14 countries. Ahead of the ward Mirali Gasanov is expected to have a whole series of competitions in Tajikistan, consisting of three tournaments.
