12.02.2022 | 20:13 |The growth of the country's economic potential through the intensive development of industries, digitalization, and diversification of the economic complex, ensuring the progressive dynamics of GDP by at least 6%, the establishment of market mechanisms - these are the main directions outlined by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
Speaking at an expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan on Friday, the head of state, addressing Deputy Prime Minister Serdar Berdimuhamedov and all leaders of the financial and economic sphere, outlined the development of the domestic market and reducing dependence on exports among their primary tasks.
The economic agenda for the near future also includes large investments in technological re-equipment and digitalization of economic sectors, including the construction industry, maritime and rail transport, and the agro-industrial complex. It is necessary to expand energy-saving production methods, state support for scientific research and innovative developments, as well as small and medium-sized enterprises.
Banks are faced with the task of curbing inflation at a predictable level, providing the country's economy with financial resources based on the regulation and control of the money supply.
The President also recalled that the regional development strategy is an important component of a successful domestic policy of the state, considering the resource, demographic and labor potential of the territories, the quality of life of their population. In this context, Berdimuhamedov instructed to develop a new National Program to transform the social and living conditions of the population in the regions - now for the period up to 2027 - and provide for solid investments for its implementation.
