PETRONAS and Turkmenistan discussed prospects of cooperation in the fuel and energy complex

In Avaza, on the Caspian coast, a meeting between Tan Sri Wan Zulkiflee bin Wan Ariffin, President and CEO of PETRONAS Malaysian company, and Yagshigeldy Kakaev, Advisor to the President of Turkmenistan on Oil and Gas Issues, and Rashid Meredov, Vice-Chairman ща the CM and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, were held.

The parties emphasized the fruitful nature of mutually beneficial cooperation in the fuel and energy sector and discussed issues of its further expansion.

Now Malaysian PETRONAS and the government of Turkmenistan are in talks to extend the company’s activities in the country after 2028. The company works on the Turkmen coast of the Caspian Sea and is interested in developing partnerships with the Turkmen side in the field of petrochemicals, etc.

In addition, company representatives held a number of meetings with heads of relevant ministries of the country.
