The Anadolu Agency, the largest Turkish news agency celebrates its centenary and thereupon ORIENT congratulates its Turkish colleagues.
The Anadolu Agency informs readers on events in Turkey and around world in the spheres of economy, sports, public health services and technologies, publishes photo and video data.
It was established on April 6, 1920 by Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. Now the agency is a joint-stock company: 49 % of its shares belong to the state, 51 % – to private investors.
The agency’s motto is «Authentic, objective and operative journalism». The agency with headquarters in Ankara has the international branches more than in 30 countries. President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan has sent his congratulatory message to the head of the Board of Directors and General Director of Anadolu Agency Şenol Kazanci on the occasion of the 100th anniversary.
In the message it is noted that the agency is the witness of national-liberation struggle of Turkish people, creation of Turkish Republic, formation and country’s development. The Turkish leader has expressed satisfaction with the fact that the Anadolu Agency expands the sphere of its activity and network of representations abroad.
