The website of the State News Agency of Turkmenistan has created its own QR Code. From now on, it became easier to get access to the latest news of the country and the world – you just need to capture a photograph and recognize the QR Code using the built-in camera of any modern gadget – a tablet, a smartphone or a laptop. The main thing is that your device has the appropriate application to scan and read a QR code, which, however, is usually already installed on most of smartphones sold today.

A QR code is abbreviated from Quick Response code. Despite its size, a QR code can store a large amount of data. But this is not the main feature. By scanning a QR code, you can gain access to this data instantly – from its fast readability is derived the name. The first QR code system was invented in 1994 by specialists from the Japanese company Denso Wave, a subsidiary of Toyota. QR codes are now used across the world due to its greater storage capacity compared to standard UPC barcodes.
