Turkmenistan sees German companies as reliable partners, who are distinguished by high professionalism, responsibility, and understanding of the values of cooperation. Ashgabat supports this approach and will further encourage the activities of German businesses in the Turkmen market, National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said at the Turkmen-German business forum, which was held in Berlin on Friday.

As a successful example of interaction, he named joint work with such conglomerates as Siemens, Daimler, CLAAS, MAN, Rohde & Schwarz, etc.

“We are at a stage when we need truly large-scale, breakthrough joint projects that would become the locomotive of economic cooperation, open up prospects for attracting new investments, creating related industries, and modern services,” TDH quotes the National Leader of the Turkmen people as saying.

In his speech, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov drew the attention of German partners to priority areas of cooperation, including the supply of German equipment for the fuel and energy complex of Turkmenistan. The head of the Khalk Maslakhaty also expressed his readiness to study the prospects for introducing German technologies in the field of solar and hydrogen energy in Turkmenistan in order to create high-tech industries in the country.

According to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, new forms of interaction are opening up in the agricultural industry, where the key trend is the transition to a green economy and digitalization, as well as in the modernization of the transport and communication infrastructure of Turkmenistan. In this context, it was proposed to establish regular working contacts between transport departments, associations and companies of the two countries. In particular, the head of the Khalk Maslahaty spoke about the interest of Turkmen railways in exchanging experience with Deutsche Bahn, the main railway operator of Germany.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also proposed to consider the possibilities of developing air communications between the two countries and joint management of airports in Turkmenistan.
