International Tennis Federation Launches New App

As part of a broad educational and promotional campaign, the International Tennis Federation (ITF) has launched the application “Tennis Rules”.
The application is a simple and easy-to-use guide to the court tennis rules for millions of people, both professional players and outdoor enthusiasts. Although the basic rules of tennis are understandable to many people, this “royal” game has more subtleties than it seems at first glance.
For example, is one member of a paired team allowed to play alone against the opponents? Can players use a racket with broken strings? What happens if a passing bird interferes with the game? The application will give answers to these and other questions.

The program also includes the rules of beach tennis and wheelchair tennis, practical examples of their application.
It is believed that the rules of tennis with the history dating back to several thousand years, was invented by British army officer Walter Clopton Wingfield back in 1873 to entertain guests at receptions in his mansion in Wales. In the game, invented by Wingfield, the badminton influence could be also traced, which was gaining popularity in those days. But since then, the rules have changed many times.
Court tennis is gaining popularity in Turkmenistan. The number of people involved in this sport is increasing from year to year. As part of a joint project with the Ministry of Sport and Youth Policy and the Ministry of Education, the Tennis Federation of Turkmenistan conducted training courses for physical education teachers at Ashgabat secondary schools. Now they can teach schoolchildren how to play tennis.
In this regard, the new application “Tennis Rules” will become a guide in a new field for them. It can be downloaded on Google Play or in the App Store.
