The first Aurus cars can be delivered in Turkmenistan in March 2021

The first deliveries to customers of mass production of Aurus cars at the Ford Sollers plant in Elabuga (Tatarstan) will start in March 2021. This was announced by Denis Manturov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, in the “Actors with Naila Asker-zade,” on the channel “Russia 1”.

“We are already testing to begin mass producing Aurus cars, and from March next year we will give the first deliveries of mass-producing cars to our customers,” Minister said.

Collect Aurus cars will start at the Elabuga plant in the first quarter of 2021. Pilot batch release in November 2020. In the future, for 2021, it is planned to produce 360 cars, for 2022 – 1724 vehicles, for 2023 – 4030 cars, and for 2024 – 5274 vehicles.

In total, since the beginning of 2018, Aurus cars has received more than 700 pre-orders. The cost of one machine in the base is 18 million rubles, said General Director of “Aurus” Adil Shirinov.

Aurus is the Russian brand of premium cars. It was launched as part of the “Unified Modular Platform” project (EMP, also known as “Tuple”, Kortezh), which since 2013 has been implementing by the Federal State Unitary Enterprise “NAMI” at the request of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Special versions of Aurus cars are used in the FSO special-purpose garage for trips of the president and prime minister of the Russian Federation.

It should be noted that former Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev showed the president of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov the Russian Aurus Senat in Lustre White, which was produced specifically for demonstration at the I Caspian Economic Forum held on August 12, 2019 at the Avaza National Tourist Zone on the shore of the Caspian Sea.

Berdimuhamedov carefully watched the car as this version released in a single copy. In particular, he took the wheel, inspected the interior from the inside, noting the large number of digital technologies introduced. The Turkmen leader liked both the “right” price and the elegant appearance, especially the large radiator.

The vehicle is made of Russian materials in bright colors. It is equipped with the same hybrid powertrain consisting of V8 engine and an electric motor, with a total capacity of 660 horsepower. The engine enables acceleration of a three-ton car from 0 to 100kph in approximately six seconds. The car is equipped with a nine-speed automatic transmission, developed in Russia, and modern driver assistance systems.

“If we need to place a pre-order, we will do it,” the Turkmen president said, noting that he intends to order the entire Aurus line. “For security, for ambulance, if necessary, of course, for motorcade. We would like to purchase the entire line of cars from you.”

“Your words are already an application,” the former Russian prime minister replied. The two officials agreed that representatives of relevant ministries would later settle all issues related to the purchase of cars.
