Construction work to create the Turkmen “energy ring” will be completed by the end of 2023

The construction of key overhead power lines on the Balkan-Dashoguz and Ahal-Mary highways will be completed by the end of 2023. This was reported by Turkmen Deputy Prime Minister Baymyrat Annamammedov in his article for the Turkmen press.

The completion of construction and installation work in these areas will be a huge step in the creation of the so-called “energy ring”, the essence of which is to ensure uninterrupted energy supply to the regions of the country and the circulation of generated electricity to establish effective exports.

In 2021, the construction of the Ahal-Balkan line was completed, which runs along a major highway connecting the central region of the country with the western region and the Caspian Sea, passing through the largest urban and industrial formations.

A major project to create a ring energy system of the country was once initiated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who then noted that the energy ring “will allow, if necessary, to redistribute electricity in the right direction and ensure optimal operation of the country’s electrical networks.”
