Beijing hosted the VIII World Robotics Conference, where more than 140 companies from China and other countries showed about 600 of their latest inventions in the field of smart machines. The organizers said that the event received support from 25 international organizations, according to the Chinese edition of Xinhua.
The conference was jointly organized by the People's Government of Beijing and the Ministry of Industry and Informatization of the People's Republic of China. The area of exhibition pavilions amounted to 45 thousand square meters.
The forum was attended by experts from different countries, including ASEAN, EU, UK, Canada, Republic of Korea, Saudi Arabia, USA and Japan. The purpose of the conference was to promote the internationalization of projects in the field of robotics and the strengthening of international industry chains through cooperation between developers and manufacturers.
Visitors to the exhibition could see the new products of companies involved in the production of robots for domestic use, agriculture, construction and materials processing, energy, trade and logistics, healthcare, as well as rescue and disaster management. Among the participants was the Chinese Siasun Robot & Automation, which was visited by Chinese President Xi Jinping in August 2022, the South Korean Hyundai Robotics Investment, the Japanese Yamaha Engine and others.
"The Chinese Communist Party and the State Council are actively pursuing strategic actions to promote technical innovation and expand the field of their practical application," Wang Hong, deputy director of the First Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Ministry of Industry and Informatization of the People's Republic of China said. In his opinion, the Chinese robotics industry has "tremendous opportunities" for the development of a new stage of scientific and technological revolution, but also faces "many difficulties and challenges."
The World Robotics Conference has been held in China since 2015. Over eight years, more than 2,000 officials and industry representatives, including 700 foreigners, have spoken at the annual forums. They participated in about 100 thematic sections devoted to topical issues in the field of creation, production and operation of smart machines. About 3 thousand developments were shown at parallel exhibitions. The exhibitions were visited by more than 1 million people.
