Numan Kurtulmus elected Chairman of the Turkish Parliament

The election of the chairman of the country's legislature of the 28th convocation was held in Turkey, the Anadolu agency reports.

In the third round of voting in the General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Numan Kurtulmus was elected chairman of the legislative body of the country. 321 deputies voted for him.

Kurtulmus is the deputy chairman of the ruling Justice and Development Party of Turkey. Previously, he worked in such positions as government press Secretary, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Culture and Tourism.

The elected Chairman of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey was nominated by the ruling Justice and Development Party and the Nationalist Movement Party.
