The winners of the French Language Olympiad will be honored in Ashgabat on June 8. The award ceremony will take place at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The language competition among students of schools, universities and pupils of the French Institute has become traditional and is held for the third year in a row. For the first time, students of regional schools - Dashoguz, Mary, Turkmenabad and Kerki, where they study French, took part in the Olympiad. The capital's educational institutions were represented by students of 9 schools, as well as the International School of Ashgabat, the French school MLF-Bouygues and pupils of the French Institute. A total of 460 children showed their language skills and knowledge of French.

The theme of the current contest is "temps", which means both "weather" and "time". The first round of testing took place in schools in April-May of this year – participants completed a questionnaire in French and wrote dictation. The final of the Olympiad was held in Ashgabat in an oral format, and schoolchildren from the regions joined the digital communication competition.

The winners will be presented with memorable gifts. The first place winners will receive modern laptops from the French companies Bouygues Turkmen, TotalEnergie and VINCI Construction, which sponsor the event.

The organizers of the Olympiad are the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan together with the French Institute at the Embassy of France.
