Turkic dishes according to ancient recipes were prepared at an ethnofestival in Kyrgyzstan

Dishes of the Turkic peoples according to ancient recipes were prepared in Kyrgyzstan at the first international ethnofestival "Traditional cuisine of the Turkic peoples". The best chefs from seven countries treated the guests of the holiday with national dishes, the Kyrgyz press reports.

A rich dastorkhan was spread out in the Chunkurchak gorge near Bishkek. About a thousand people gathered to try rare dishes of Azerbaijani, Hungarian, Turkish, Kazakh, Kyrgyz and North Macedonian cuisine.

"We must be united. Not only in geopolitics and economics, we are also united by dastorkhan," Secretary General of the International Organization of Turkic Culture Sultan Raev said at the festival.

Lamb treats, various dairy products for the preparation of soups, porridges and flour dishes were presented at the festival. Gatyk, gaimag, yag, ayran, suzma and other milk are used by the Turkic peoples not only as semi-finished products, but also as independent dishes with bread.

The results of the competition will be summed up by culinary experts. The jury's priority is forgotten, rare dishes or cooked according to ancient recipes.
