The wife of the Ambassador of the European Union to Turkmenistan Dubravka Jovanovic was awarded certificates of honor for her contribution to the greening of the Turkmen capital from the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan and the Agrarian Party of the country.
Diplomas were awarded within the framework of scientific and practical conference in Ashgabat, dedicated to the World Environment Day and the successes of Turkmenistan in the field of environmental protection.
During her stay in Turkmenistan, Jovanovic, on her own initiative and at her own expense, planted more than 9,000 shrubs and 6,000 trees in Ashgabat and its environs.
Organizing numerous tree planting campaigns, she attracted various social groups to them — people with disabilities, schoolchildren, students, etc. Thus, Jovanovic contributed not only to the greening of Ashgabat, but also to the social integration and mutual understanding of different strata of society.
