The Turkmenistan Weightlifting Championship among boys and girls has started in Mary, bringing together about 150 athletes from all regions of the country.

On the opening day of the tournament, a preliminary weigh-in of the participants took place. Athletes in the weight category up to 55 kg were the first on the platform. In the following days of the championship, competitions in other weight categories will take place.

The winners of the domestic championship will represent Turkmenistan at the upcoming Asian Youth Championship, which will be held in India in July this year.
