U.S. Ambassador to Russia Lynn Tracy highly appreciated Turkmenistan's efforts to preserve peace and stability in Central Asia and to resolve the situation in Afghanistan. She said this during the meeting with the head of the diplomatic mission of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation Batyr Niyazliev.

The diplomats discussed the current course and prospects of cooperation between the two countries, noting the consistent development of relations between Ashgabat and Washington on the principles of mutual respect and equality.

The strengthening of peace and security, the fight against new threats and challenges, and the promotion of the global transport and energy agenda were identified as priority areas of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United States.

The heads of the diplomatic missions agreed to continue working contacts.
