Customs posts of Turkmenistan have adopted electronic declaration

On January 1, 2020, the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan completely introduced electronic customs declaration in the ASYCUDA World system, the press service of the customs authorities of Turkmenistan reports.
The system allows processing more than 16 million customs declarations per year in an automated mode. This will reduce the time for customs clearance, as well as enhance the security of procedures for control and transit of goods.
In 2019, the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) signed a project agreement on technical cooperation for the introduction of the integrated information sys-tem ASYCUDA World.
The project was carried out in several stages, including the organization of a training course to inform on the export module being introduced in the cus-toms institutions of the country. The training participants studied the process of working with customs declarations in the information system.
Customs procedures automation will contribute to development of cross-border trade and promoting the position of the Turkmen business in the inter-national arena.
