The authorities of the Thai city of Phuket teach tourists to discipline according to football rules

Foreign tourists who have violated the rule of law in Phuket will now receive yellow and red cards. At the same time, the yellow one allows the guest to continue his vacation in the city, but next time he will not be allowed to Thailand. However, those who committed an illegal act for the second time will become holders of a red card and will be immediately expelled from the country, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the Thai newspaper The Phuket News.
A new system for tracking offenses of foreign tourists has been launched by the Phuket Immigration Service. Its rules are similar to football, where players are given colored cards and removed from the field. The city authorities have distributed information about tourists who received the first red and yellow cards under the new system of combating violations.
The publication clarifies that now the cases of more than 180 foreigners are being considered in the courts – most of them are visitors from Russia, France, Great Britain, Myanmar and Cambodia. The most common violations are drunk driving, staying in the country on an expired visa, illegal entry into Thailand and working without a permit.
This system currently operates only in Phuket. If it is effective, it could potentially cover other popular tourist destinations - Pattaya, Chiang Mai and Koh Samui.
