The President of Turkmenistan signed the Decree, according to which the Innovation and Information Center of the Ministry of Education of the country is defined as an institution authorized to carry out the functions of national information centers under the Convention on the Recognition of Professional Qualifications in Higher Education in the European Region.

Turkmenistan joined this convention in November 2022. This will enable graduates who have studied in the European Region to continue their education within the national education system for a further degree. The document is an important step in the formation of international policy and advanced approaches in the field of recognition of foreign education and facilitates access to the labor market for countries participating in the convention.

The Convention on the Recognition of Professional Qualifications in Higher Education in the European Region, adopted in 1997 in Lisbon, also provides for the improvement of the exchange of information between member countries.

Thus, the Innovation and Information Center of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan will take part in the network of information centers of the Committee for the implementation of the Lisbon Convention of the Council of Europe and UNESCO.
