The Mejlis adopted a law on accession to the Brussels Convention on the Coding of Goods

The Parliament of Turkmenistan unanimously voted for the adoption of the law "On accession to the International Convention on the Harmonized System of Description and Coding of Goods, adopted in the city of Brussels and amended by the Protocol of Amendment".

Information about this was published by official Turkmen press on March 17.

The adoption of the Law on the Harmonized System is aimed at simplifying trade procedures. Its essence lies in the standardization of descriptions, coding and classification of manufactured goods, which is important for maintaining more accurate statistics of foreign trade.

Objective statistics, in turn, will allow the government and companies to develop a more effective development strategy and monitor prices.

On a national scale, this will improve internal taxation, the compilation of national accounts, the formation of freight tariffs, the determination of the origin of goods, control over the implementation of quotas and economic analysis.

At the moment, about 160 States have joined this Convention, which entered into force in 1988.

In addition, the parliamentarians voted for the adoption of laws "On the Mejlis of Turkmenistan", "On amendments to some legislative acts of Turkmenistan". Amendments and additions to the laws "On Shared-equity Construction", "On Urban Planning activities", "On Licensing of certain types of activities" were also adopted.
