Turkmenistan discussed strengthening peace and development in Islamic countries

The Turkmen delegation headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Vepa Hajiev discussed the strengthening of peace, security and sustainable development of the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the country's foreign ministry reports.
The discussions took place within the framework of the 49th meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the OIC countries in the African Republic of Mauritania. During the meeting, issues of a political, economic, cultural and humanitarian nature were touched upon.
During the talks, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan and the Secretary General of the organization, Hissein Brahim Taha, highly appreciated the interaction between Turkmenistan and the Islamic structure. Then the parties exchanged views on further cooperation.
Turkmen diplomats also familiarized the participants with the "smart city" Arkadag, which is being built taking into account strict environmental standards.
