Instagram users will be able to comment on posts using animated images or GIF files. The new feature is under testing and will be implemented in stages. Thanks to it, Instagram account owners will be able to search for GIFs from GIPHY and respond to messages using them as comments.

To apply this feature, users need to select "Add comment" in an Instagram post, then select a sticker from the extensive library of the application in the GIF section. Users will also be able to browse and select popular GIFs or find a specific GIF that matches their comment by entering a keyword.

Note that before that, users could post GIF stickers in stories, but not in comments to posts.

GIF files, or images in the Graphics Interchange Format, are short animations used to convey emotions, reactions or moods of users.
