China to uphold the right of all athletes to participate in international competitions
"The Chinese Olympic Committee believes that athletes from all over the world should enjoy equal rights to compete and is ready to continue discussing the participation of athletes from Russia and Belarus in the Asian Games," the Chinese Olympic Committee website said in a statement. Recall that a few days earlier, the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) invited the athletes of Russia and Belarus to take part in the Asian Games, which will be held in Hangzhou, China from September 23 to October 8.
Sport unites and all athletes, regardless of their nationality or passport, should be able to compete. The Chinese Olympic Committee is ready to create a platform for the joint protection of all athletes, including qualified Russian and Belarusian athletes, in order to protect the Olympic values, the statement said.
