Turkmen products can find a place on the shelves of large Russian retail chains

The products produced in Turkmenistan can find a place on the shelves of large retail chains in Russia, Deputy Director General of the Federal Corporation for the Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises of the Russian Federation Nikita Bantsekin said during the Turkmen-Russian business forum in Ashgabat.

"It can be such large networks as X5, Metro, Magnit, Globus and many, many others. It seems to me that Turkmen products will be quite in demand there. And not only agricultural products, but also industrial, textiles, and many other goods," Bantsekin said.

The deputy CEO of the corporation also noted that according to the legislation, large Russian state-owned companies with state participation are required to purchase at least 25% of all products they need from small and medium-sized enterprises. And this market is also open to Turkmen companies — they can participate in public procurement on a competitive basis.

At the same time, the Russian side expects reciprocity in increasing bilateral trade, Bantsekin stressed, and expressed hope that Russian small and medium-sized enterprises will also find their way to the Turkmen market.

The speaker also spoke about the existence of a digital platform named "Production cooperation and sales", which can contribute to increasing trade between Turkmen and Russian companies. The platform is currently running in test mode.
