Putin and Erdogan discussed the creation of a regional gas hub in Turkey

The creation of a regional gas hub in Turkey was one of the topics of a telephone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Thursday.
"The issues of further expansion of trade and economic ties, primarily in the energy sector, were discussed. The priority importance of the implementation of such strategically significant joint projects as the creation of a regional gas hub in Turkey and the construction of the Akkuyu NPP was noted," the Kremlin website says.
Erdogan said that the country continues to strengthen the infrastructure for the creation of a natural gas center in Turkey, and steps are being taken to complete the roadmap of this project as soon as possible and implement it as soon as possible, according to a press release on the Turkish leader's website.
