The President of Turkmenistan and the Minister of Oil of Iran discussed energy cooperation

Issues of energy cooperation between Turkmenistan and Iran were discussed by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Oil Minister Javad Ovji, who arrived in Ashgabat at the head of the Iranian delegation.
During the meeting held on Wednesday, the sides exchanged views on cooperation in the fuel and energy sector, in which both countries have a huge resource potential, and the fact of their geographical proximity creates opportunities for joint mutually beneficial projects.
Javad Ovji confirmed Iran's great interest in expanding trade and economic relations with Turkmenistan, both in the fuel and energy sector, as well as in the transport and logistics sector and other areas.
The Iranian delegation also held talks at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan on Wednesday.
A wide presence of Iranian oil companies, equipment manufacturers, etc. is also expected at the upcoming exhibition of IRI products in December, which will be held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan in Ashgabat.
