Turkmenistan and Japan agreed on the agenda of the committee on economic cooperation

On Tuesday, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Chairman of the Turkmen-Japanese Committee for Economic Cooperation Rashid Meredov held video conference talks with the co-chairman of this committee from the Japanese side, Managing Director of Itochu Corporation Hiroyuki Tsubai.

During the meeting, the parties noted that contacts at the highest and high levels play an important role in the development of interstate relations, according to the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. In this context, the significance of the recent visit of the Turkmen delegation headed by Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty-the Upper House of the Turkmen Parliament, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Tokyo was noted.

In continuation of this topic, proposals and projects announced during this visit to expand trade and economic cooperation between Turkmenistan and Japan were discussed.

The co-chairs considered the issues of updating the Roadmap for cooperation in the field of infrastructure development with a focus on innovation and discussed preparations for the 14th meeting of the committee, which is scheduled for the end of the year. Approaches to the agenda of the meeting and documents being prepared for signing following its results were agreed upon.

It was previously reported that the 14th meeting of the Turkmen-Japanese Committee for Economic Cooperation would be held in Tokyo at the end of this year.
