Ashgabat and Astana will cooperate in the field of green capital

Ashgabat and Astana agreed on cooperation in the field of green capital market. This was discussed during the visit of the Turkmen government delegation headed by President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the Astana International Financial Center (AIFC) on Saturday.
The delegation was met by AIFC Governor Kairat Kelimbetov. During the visit, the guests were introduced to the work of the AIFC bodies - the stock exchange, the court and the International Arbitration Center, the Financial Services Regulatory Committee, the Fintech Hub, the Green Finance Center, etc. according to the AIFC press release published on the organization's website on Monday.
The President of Turkmenistan got acquainted with the special legal regime based on the principles and norms of common law, tax preferences and visa exemptions operating in the AIFC, as well as with the advantages of jurisdiction and the achievements of the Center.
Special attention was paid to the activities of the AIFC Green Finance Center. It was noted that earlier the CGF came up with an initiative to establish the Turkic Green Finance Council. The proposal was supported by the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States, the Central Bank of Hungary and the Union of Banks of Kyrgyzstan. Currently, the AIFC Green Finance Center cooperates with the Ashgabat Stock Exchange and is ready to open an office in Ashgabat.
Green finance is investments and other financial instruments aimed at the implementation of environmentally friendly, energy efficient and low carbon projects.
