IDB held a seminar on a new procurement concept

In order to more effectively implement the new procurement concept, the Islamic Development Bank held a seminar for civil servants of Turkmenistan.

The event was designed to support current and future initiatives and reforms in the procurement system, as well as to help Turkmenistan better adapt to the ever-changing field of procurement and strengthen the procurement system in the country.

During the seminar, Aamir Mir, who oversees the principles and practices of financial management in the IDB, Ibrahim Shukri, head of the Almaty regional hub of the Islamic Development Bank, Dovlet Khidyrov, Head of the credit department of the State Bank for Foreign Economic Activity of Turkmenistan, spoke.

The four-day seminar, held in English and Russian, became a platform for the exchange of knowledge and best practices in the field of procurement and financial management. More than 40 people took an active part in the seminar, who got acquainted with the practice of resolving financial disputes, contract and financial management, as well as compliance with the bank's integrity policy.

The Islamic Development Bank traditionally supports initiatives to ensure effective procurement activities and introduces the tools of the new procurement system of the IDB, which provides maximum benefits of price-quality ratio.
