A parade in honor of the 31st anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence was held in Ashgabat
A parade in honor of the 31st anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence was held at the State tribune complex in the young part of Ashgabat with the participation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The parade was broadcast on national television.
The celebration began with a military parade, which was opened by a banner group; it passed in front of the state rostrum, holding the National flag of Turkmenistan and the battle banners of all branches of the Armed Forces of the country, beginning the passage of military personnel with a solemn march.
The large screens installed on the square also broadcast the naval parade, which was simultaneously held in the Balkan region of Turkmenistan. Next, a traditional review of the latest military equipment in service with the national army, as well as an air show, took place.
The event continued with performances by creative teams and demonstration of achievements achieved by the national economic complex of Turkmenistan during the years of independence. The parade began at 10:00 am Ashgabat time and ended at 12:25.
