Opportunities for training professional staff for business were discussed at EBRD events17.09.2022 | 05:52 |
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, with the financial support of the European Union, held a series of events in Ashgabat dedicated to the problems of finding personnel and opportunities for training professional personnel for private companies.
The purpose of the meetings was to discuss the possibilities of close cooperation between the educational centers of Turkmenistan, recruitment agencies and business, as well as the creation of new EBRD projects, which will subsequently be aimed at solving the urgent needs of companies in the field of recruitment.
Thematic round tables prompted entrepreneurs to think about whether it is worth investing money and time in training and professional development of personnel, as well as where to look for them and by what criteria to select a team.
Heads and employees of five educational centers of Turkmenistan, four recruitment agencies and two consulting companies made presentations at the meetings. They spoke in detail about the opportunities for training qualified personnel for the private sector, as well as the pitfalls in hiring specialists in various fields - accountants, personnel department employees, etc.
Particular attention was paid to the fact that the work of modern educational centers is very different from the usual education in universities. First of all, this concerns trainings in a corporate format, when all or part of the staff of one company receives knowledge and performs practical tasks together.
Today, Turkmen firms can order comprehensive staff development programs that will take into account their individual needs. Moreover, before the start of the courses, the educational centers themselves will conduct pre-training diagnostics in order to find out the real state of affairs in the team. After all, it often happens that management, accustomed to its employees, loses sight of some of the problems of the personnel, which will be obvious to an independent observer.
The Mystery Client service, which is provided by some consulting companies, works in a similar way. It can help a business to identify the weaknesses of the company in the provision of services by certain employees, as well as to check the effectiveness of the entire system of work with clients.
The preliminary list of possible projects that can be implemented by the EBRD in cooperation with private companies, training centers and recruitment agencies in Turkmenistan includes the following:
– creation of industry associations with training centers,
– organization of trainings with the involvement of specialists from Central Asia,
– preparation of a register of recruitment agencies and educational centers for private companies,
– development of internship programs in companies,
– excursions for young people to private enterprises, etc.
