Turkmen-Uzbek political consultations with the participation of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov were held in Ashgabat on Friday.
The parties discussed issues of deepening cooperation in the political and diplomatic sphere both in a bilateral format and within the framework of multilateral international organizations.
The progress of the implementation of the agreements reached during the Turkmen-Uzbek summit meeting on July 14-15, 2022 in Tashkent and Samarkand was considered.
The parties exchanged views on the state and priority areas for the development of trade and economic ties, which are characterized by positive dynamics. Special attention was paid to the prospects for expanding cultural and humanitarian contacts.
It was noted that a solid contractual and legal framework has been created between the two countries, allowing the development of cooperation in all areas of interaction.
During the consultations, other issues of international and regional nature of mutual interest were considered.
At the end of the meeting, the protocol of the next Turkmen-Uzbek political consultations was signed.
