The President of Turkmenistan discussed the prospects for cooperation with the Prime Minister of Georgia

On Wednesday, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov discussed with Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili the state and prospects of bilateral cooperation, promotion of joint agreements.
In terms of expanding trade and economic relations between Turkmenistan and Georgia, the issues of increasing the list of goods in mutual trade and its activation were touched upon. The role of the intergovernmental commission regulating the formats and mechanisms of partnership was noted.
The head of state and the prime minister exchanged views on the potential of the emerging Caspian Sea-Black Sea transport and transit corridor, which opens up access to the markets of Europe and the Middle East for the countries of these regions.
Particular attention was paid to creating conditions for direct contacts between the business communities of Turkmenistan and Georgia.
The interlocutors also agreed that it is important to encourage the development of humanitarian ties - in science and the education system, medicine, culture, tourism and sports.

The Georgian delegation headed by Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, who is visiting Ashgabat, also held talks with members of the Turkmen government.
The agenda of these meetings included trade and economic topics, cooperation in the transport and communications sector, including infrastructure projects, energy partnership both on a bilateral basis and in line with the tasks of strengthening universal energy security on the continent.
At the end of the negotiations, the parties signed several joint documents, including direct flights between Turkmenistan and Georgia.
