The film about the poet Makhtumkuli to be premiered at the capital's cinema "Ashgabat"

The premiere screening of the new feature film "Istyarin" ("Desire") by Turkmen film director Arslan Eyeberdyev will be held on July 8 at the capital’s cinema "Ashgabat". A little later, the film will be shown on the channels of the Turkmen national television.
The movie, dedicated to the life and work of the great Turkmen poet Makhtumkuli, was timed to Day of Workers of Culture and Art and Day of Poetry of Makhtumkuli Fragi, annually celebrated in Turkmenistan.
In the film, viewers will “plunge” into two eras at once: the 50s of the 20th century, where a school history lesson takes place and a young teacher, as if through a portal of time, takes students to the 18th century, the era when Magtymguly lived and worked.
The film is currently being translated into English and Russian. This will allow the new film to participate in international film festivals.
Viewers will be interested to see the work of the modern Turkmen cinematographic school. The first feature film with the same name "Makhtumkuli" directed by Alty Karliev was filmed at the film studio "Turkmenfilm" in 1968, almost 55 years ago.
The showing starts at 11.00 in the cinema "Ashgabat".
