The number of quotas for teaching foreign students in Russia is doubling

More than 345,000 foreign students are currently studying in Russia and the number of quotas for them is doubling. This is with reference to the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Valery Falkov, RIA Novosti reports.

"As for foreigners, it is worth clarifying here: today we have 345098 students from a large number of countries. Kazakhstan is in the lead – almost 60 thousand, followed by Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, China and India. What measures we are taking... First, by the decision of the government, we are doubling the number of quotas for foreign citizens," Falkov said in the State Duma on Monday.

According to him, foreigners will go to Russia even more if they improve the quality of education, launch interesting projects, and expand scientific activities.
